竞赛是学习帆船的一种方式，对青少年来说也是一种挑战自我，实现自我的途径。帆船竞赛被称为海上西洋棋，水手要根据千变万化的海况天气与复杂的规则从几十条乃至上百条的船中赢得奖杯。这也是为何帆船竞赛的魅力如此之大以至于本次月底即将在美帆举行的中帆协青少年俱乐部帆船联赛报名如此火爆。
Racing is one of the best ways to learn more about sailing. It is also a lifestyle tour for youngsters to fulfill themselves. Competitive Sailing is like a game of on-water chess, the sailors compete with each other under weather conditions that are constantly changing and follow many rules to win the medals on the water.
美帆自2014年起就已经成立了29er职业赛队和之后的Nacra17职业赛队，且均在该领域取得了瞩目的成绩，是中国民营企业帆船职业化道路的领头羊。因此，为了建立更好的梯队与发展模式，我们也成立了业余帆船赛队征战国内外，目的是从小培养青少年的帆船竞赛水平与竞争意识，为他们今后的帆船生涯铺垫扎实的基础。
Shanghai Yacht Club has established a 29er and Nacra17 professional racing team since 2014, achieving great results in the world. As part of our Youth Development plan, we have created a system to let our amateur club sailors take opportunities to race in a challenging environment. This environment will enhance their sailing skills and competitive spirit within the sport of Sailing.
在三月份的Topper选拔赛中，9名选手脱颖而出通过考评。俱乐部于4月正式成立了上海美帆Topper赛队。今后赛队选手将代表美帆在国内外进行比赛，他们分别是

Topper赛队是美帆培养青少年进行业余帆船竞技活动的一部分，将来我们会结合Nacra15，29er这些项目与我们的职业赛队相结合，选拔高竞技水平的青少年参加到这些项目中，让他们有机会走向职业帆船手之路。
The Topper Racing Squad is part of our plan to set up the SYC Racing Team Plan. In the future we will have Youth Sailors Training and Racing on High Performance dinghies, such as the Nacra15 & 29er. Taking part in International Regattas and events will provide the platform to let them have the possibilities to become professional sailors in their futures.
我们期待这些孩子将来能够在国内国际赛场上能够拼搏激浪，斩获奖牌！
